These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Stud Finder & Metal Scanner application ("the App") published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Stud Finder & Metal Scanner is an iOS application that uses your iPhone's built-in magnetometer to detect ferrous (magnetic) metal hidden behind a surface by measuring magnetic-field deviation from a calibrated baseline. Features include a live radar/needle gauge with a microtesla readout, escalating haptic and optional audio feedback, two detection modes (Stud Finder and Metal Detector), a calibration flow, peak-hold, and an optional saved scan log. All detection runs on your device.

2. Important Limitations — Please Read

The App is a magnetometer-based detection aid, not a precision instrument or a safety device. You understand and agree that:

• The App detects ferrous (magnetic) metal only — such as nails, screws, metal studs, steel pipes, rebar, bolts, and brackets. It cannot detect bare wood, copper wire, copper pipe, gold, silver, aluminum, plastic (e.g. PEX/PVC) piping, or non-metallic objects.
• The App locates the metal in a wall (for example, the nails or screws fastening a wood stud) — it does not directly sense the wooden edges of a stud.
• Readings are affected by phone cases (especially metal or MagSafe), nearby magnets, speakers, motors, appliances, and large metal structures, and by the device's calibration state. Results are approximate and should be treated as a guide, not an exact location or depth.
• The App must not be relied upon to locate or avoid live electrical wiring, gas lines, water pipes, or any other hazard before drilling, cutting, nailing, or sawing. It cannot reliably detect non-ferrous or energized utilities. Always verify with appropriate professional equipment and follow safe practices before penetrating any surface.
• The App is not a substitute for a professional inspection, a dedicated multi-scanner, or the services of a licensed contractor, electrician, or plumber.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Rely on the App as the sole means of avoiding hazards (such as wiring or pipes) before drilling, cutting, or fastening into any surface
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code
• Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or free-tier limitations
• Use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or third-party rights

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• Free tier: No charge. Full live detection in both modes with no cooldown timer, the radar gauge and live µT readout, and standard haptics, supported by banner and occasional interstitial advertising.
• Premium Monthly: $3.99/month. Adjustable sensitivity and threshold, fine calibration with figure-8 assist, Geiger-style audio alerts and tone styles, custom haptic intensity, unlimited saved & labeled scans, and zero ads.
• Premium Annual: $11.99/year (save roughly 75% vs. monthly), with a 7-day free trial. Same Premium feature set as monthly.
• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• If you cancel during a free trial period before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers retain their original price for the remainder of the active term.

5. User Content

Saved scans, labels, notes, and preferences are stored locally on your device. You retain all rights to your data. We do not access, collect, or store your content on any server.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and packaged content, is owned by Bulpara Inc and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, THAT IT WILL DETECT ANY OR ALL METAL OBJECTS, OR THAT ITS READINGS WILL BE ACCURATE FOR ANY PARTICULAR SURFACE OR PURPOSE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BULPARA INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Property damage, personal injury, or loss resulting from drilling, cutting, nailing, sawing, or any action taken in reliance on the App's readings — including striking electrical wiring, plumbing, gas lines, or other hidden objects
• Inaccurate, missed, or false detections, or misinterpretation of the gauge, haptics, or audio feedback
• Subscription-related charges that fall under Apple's billing policy

You assume all risk for any action you take based on the App's output.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bulpara Inc from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or from any action you take in reliance on its readings.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the business.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
