Stud Finder & Metal Scanner ("the App") is published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes how the App handles information when you use it. In short: the App collects no personal data and works entirely on your device.
1. Sensor Data Stays on Your Device
- The App detects metal by reading your iPhone's built-in magnetometer (and device-motion data used only to show calibration quality), processed live on your device.
- This sensor data is used in the moment to drive the on-screen gauge, haptics, and audio feedback. It is not uploaded, transmitted, streamed, or stored on our servers.
- We operate no servers that receive or hold your readings. The core detector works fully offline — you can confirm this by enabling Airplane Mode.
- The App does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, or your photo library.
2. Data We Store Locally
- Saved scans (Premium): If you choose to save a scan, the App stores its peak microtesla value, deviation, detection mode, optional label and note, and timestamps locally on your device via SwiftData. Nothing is sent off-device.
- Preferences: Sensitivity, threshold, haptic and audio settings, units, theme, and your calibration baseline — all stored locally.
- Purchase status: Subscription state is managed by Apple's StoreKit and cached locally for feature gating.
3. Permissions
- Motion & magnetometer: The App reads the magnetometer and device-motion sensors to detect metal and report calibration accuracy. This data is processed on-device and never leaves your phone.
- Tracking (free tier only): If you use the free, ad-supported tier, iOS may ask for permission to track via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can decline, and you can change this anytime in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- The App requests no camera, microphone, photo-library, location, or contacts access.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: Manages subscriptions and purchases. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Google AdMob (free tier only): Displays banner and occasional interstitial ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad delivery and, with your consent, personalization. Your sensor readings and saved scans are never shared with AdMob. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Premium subscribers see no ads and trigger no AdMob requests.
5. Data Storage and Security
- All scans, preferences, and calibration data are stored locally on your device.
- No sensor data, scan logs, or device-identifiable content is transmitted to or stored on our servers. We have no servers that hold user data.
- Purchase verification uses Apple's secure StoreKit framework.
- The App's core detection feature works completely offline.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your scans or sensor readings with any third party. AdMob may collect device-level data for ad delivery (free tier only); your detection data is excluded.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete individual saved scans from the History tab inside the App
- Delete the App to remove all local scans, preferences, and calibration data
- Decline or revoke ad tracking from iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking

8. Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ and is not intended to collect data from children under 13. Because the App does not collect personal data, this is enforced by design.
